OVERVIEW

MediBuddy was responsible was the large-scale vaccination rollouts to corporate partners. This dashboard design was part of a three-day hackathon to generate innovative solutions to optimize the process of delivering and scheduling vaccinations to its users (both corporate and retail).

During the three-day sprint, I was able to talk to the HR Department about the current processes (pre-scheduling) and designed a preliminary dashboard that would facilitate communication between Medibuddy and its partners. After the sprint, the concept was taken into development.

My Role: Design Lead

No system in place to track vaccination status

CONTEXT

The current processes are managed through spreadsheets that are generated by the vaccination portals provided for each corporate. Since there is no dedicated portal for the HR team to access they must navigate through multiple spreadsheets to compile data. This creates a time-consuming and cumbersome process that on a large scale will waste time.

To start the design process I spoke with members of the HR department to understand how the process is currently managed, what actions they perform, and what are the limitations of the current system.

The general information the HR team worked with was:

  1. Who was registered/ unregistered for a vaccination

  2. Dosage status of individuals

  3. Department data

  4. Location/ office overall vaccination status

  5. Experience tracking-Who showed up to the vaccination drive/who didn’t, what was their experience

Understanding the current processes

UNDERSTAND

Charting the actions to be performed by HR along with the data and features required to measure/perform those actions helped inform the information hierarchy and visual design for the final dashboard

Mapping needs with data & functions required

UNDERSTAND

The Dashboard went through multiple revisions based on feedback from the HR team on what information they prioritize and what actions should be easily accessible (most utilized vs nice to haves)

Striking a balance between clutter and relevant info

ITERATING & TESTING

FINAL DESIGN

IMPACT

Facilitated COVID-19 Vaccinations and status tracking for 15 Million People

The implemented dashboard design helped manage, track, and analyze vaccination camps for 700+ corporates across 150 cities in India.

Improved relationship between MediBuddy and corporate affiliates, and increased number of individuals who registered for vaccinations.

Reflection

This was the first project I was able to design and deliver from start to finish by myself, from undertaking research to creating multiple design revisions the process taught me how important user feedback is. Since this was an internal project I was able to iterate and revise very quickly. I was lucky to have mentors such as Kritika Vishnoi and Vardhan Kunchappu guide me through this process but still trust me to handle this entire project alone!
